Custom RSS Feeds in Power Automate

Power Automate’s built-in RSS connector is fine, but it doesn’t support any custom fields in the RSS feed. In this post, I’ll show you how to access and work with custom RSS fields.

Power Automate - Posting to Bluesky

The Bluesky API makes it easy to post, unlike a certain other social media platform that used to be important. Using Power Automate’s HTTP connector, you can send posts to your Bluesky feed with just a couple of steps. #powerautomate #bluesky

What I Look For When I Do Code Reviews

Code reviews aren’t the same as QA. They have a different purpose. Here’s what I look for when I’m doing a code review.

Try-Catch-Throw in C#

We had an interesting discussion in a team meeting today and a good point was brought up about try/catch blocks and what happens when you throw an error in the catch section that perhaps a lot of developers new to C# might not be aware of.

C# Advent 2024 - Making a List, Checking It Twice

He’s making a list Checking it twice Writing some code To track who’s naughty and nice Santa Claus is wri-ting… C# tldr; With .NET 9, you can now add custom action buttons to the .NET Aspire dashboard screen You ever wonder how Santa is able to keep track of the kids who are naughty and nice? I mean, it was probably fairly easy when an old man could send out his army of short helpers to check up on the handful of kids who fell into his purview from time to time through the year, and to keep all that recorded on paper. But today? With the world’s population exploding? How on Earth could he possibly do that now? With each passing year it’s gotten harder and harder. Never fear, Santa, I got ya covered. Let me throw together a quick proof of concept (POC) and show you the future!

Post A Message To Teams Chat

It’s long past time I had a new blog post. I’ve been focused so much lately on speaking opportunities and mentoring efforts that I haven’t posted much to my blog. So, here’s a new one I found useful a while back. Scenario In our scenario, we have a support email that gets emails when someone fills out a form on a website. The problem is that not much notice gets paid to the inbox and messages could go ignored for hours, or even days. We want to raise awareness of issues sooner so that appropriate actions can be taken. In this case, when we get an email, we’ll post a message into our Teams chat.

More Fun with images

I thought it would be fun to try another experiment with images. I came across a post on Buzzfeed the other day. You know the kind of posts they do, where they steal images from other websites, and string them together into an inane article while barely giving credit to the source in tiny little letters? This article was about funny posts on Facebook Marketplace, where people are selling things, but aren’t quite sure how they’re spelled.
